Excerpt from Help! I am a Teenager Chapter 3: A Word to a Teenage Athlete
We need some Christian teenagers to share the gospel with their teammates and pray with them. I will encourage you to do so, in I Corinthians 10:31 “whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. (KJV) Being a teammate means being there to uplift when things are not good, being a teammate also means to share in the special moments when things are going well. Some of the best teams share a unity, a bond and together they accomplish many great things. The Yankees in the 90's, the Cowboys, the Redskins, the Chicago Bulls, and Lakers, these teams were made up of individuals with a common goal, to win championships. God wants to make you a champion, but you can't do it alone, I want you to think of your youth group or your church. God placed you there for a reason. He gave you this place of worship, and as individuals to make up a team. He wants you to become a champion, He wants your Youth group to become champions. A youth group who sticks together and grows together accomplishes many wonderful things. A youth group with a good leader and teens who want to be led, can achieve greatness. Look around you, no matter the city or town you are in, you as a group of individuals can form a team, and set your town on fire for God. I believe the youth is not the church of tomorrow, it is the church of today. Our youth in our church do a lot of many wonderful things. Our youth I believe is the driving force. Your church needs to see you out front and seeing you are part of a team who wants to win. Join the youth choir, start a teen bible study, become active in your church, be apart of God's Championship team. |
